On the front of the case, the Jack of Diamonds, holding a battle ax, is represented in green and red translucent champlevé enamel over silver foil. The Jack's facial features and hand, however, are engraved. The case's sides are striated, and its back is covered with a trellis pattern in blue champlevé enamel against a silver ground.
