Decks of playing cards are often found with the logos of rail companies, as well as airlines. When travel by train was more common, and when airline passengers were not so safely "belted in," the carriers often provided decks of cards. Travellers could amuse themselves with a friendly game while they waited for their arrival. At one time, some airplane seats actually swivelled so that a card table could stand in the middle of four players. Whatever the train or plane company, card decks were good advertisements and souvenirs of a pleasant trip.
