Game publishers Parker Brothers designed or purchased the rights to several popular card games in the early years of the 20th century. Games such as Rook and PIT sold well and continued to do so throughout most of the century. Parker tried with other games as well; the game "Block" is one such attempt. A special deck of cards for fast-paced play, Block appears to be an enjoyable game. Two special "block" cards add to the excitement and reverse the winning player's luck. Even though Parker hyped the game on the box cover as "...the best game we have ever published," Block did not become popular or successful.
