In 1971, brothers Fran and Bryce Patch started their own commercial printing company in Beloit, Wisconsin. They built their business by printing products for other companies, including Trivial Pursuit game boards and Cabbage Patch doll sticker books. The company built success upon success in the years following--both designing its own successful game line and acquiring other well-known brands and/or distributorships such as Smethport Specialty Co, known for its famous Wooly Willy toys and the Lauri brand (known for soft foam toddler puzzles.)

Giant Spoons is a simple take on classic Rummy, but players grab one of the giant plastic spoons as soon as they collect four cards of a kind. Other players must follow suit and grab a spoon, and one player is always eliminated.
