First patented in 1891, The Ouija Board still tells fortunes today. Perhaps hoping to channel some of this popularity, U.S. Games Systems, Inc. published a Ouija card game which duplicates some of the fortune telling qualities of the board game. This 1998 game features graphics and names used under license to Hasbro, which currently owns the Ouija Board.
Fortune-telling card games have long been traditional in the United States, as demonstrated by the many late-19th century games in the museum collection. This example proves that the tradition continues.
