The Khalili Collections

Comparison of this cover with the other reindeer tapestries in the Collection provides another opportunity to appreciate the artistic licence exercised by the weavers. Basically pursuing the traditional design, they included or excluded minor patterns to give each tapestry its individuality. There also appears to be a conformity of colour, with certain colours used as backgrounds and others reserved for specific ornaments; these defined combinations add to the beauty.
