Nairobi, Kenya

This is a flat goatskin bag with a central handle and has hair left on. It is made by a girl just before marriage. When she leaves her father's homestead and joins her husband for the first time, a girl has to carry one gourd of milk and one of fat with her. It is used at marriage and as a carrier to hold the gourd.
