Between the years 1880 and 1883 four cartwheels have been found in the Vehner bog, Wardenburg, in the district of Oldenburg. The so called "Cartwheels of Glum" have been found laying flat on the mineral soil within a radius of 8 - 9 m. The wheels have been made out of alder wood, the connector out of birch wood. Condition and finding place show, that the wheels have been placed there intentionally. They belonged to a four wheel cart, which has been dragged over the plank roadways in the bog by oxen in the bronce age (1550 b.C.).
