Carved wooden part of a bed tent

Carved wooden "mylospervero" from Rhodes island in the Dodecanese. This is an octagonal disk serving to suspend the Rhodian bed-tent. The floral decoration evolves freely along the flat surface of the wood. 17th-early 18th c. Gift of Helen Stathatos. (ΓΕ 8907)
