After moving from the Saski Palace in March 1817, the Chopin family lived for the next ten years in a spacious apartment on the second floor of the left outbuilding of the Casimir Palace on Krakowskie Przedmieście. The Chopins ran a well-known boarding house for boys, usually from outside Warsaw, who studied there or attended the Warsaw Lyceum (in the main building of the Casimir Palace).
