'Caught' is a virtuoso solo that David Parsons created for himself in 1983. Until its performance by Gary Chryst, the piece had only been executed by Parsons’ own company. The dancer pits his body in flight against bursts of laser light, that make it appear as though he never touches the ground. The dance is like a series of flash photos projected rapidly across the mind's eye. Parsons described this work as “a dancer’s dream of flying”.
