Ceiling from Næsbyholm

Painted wooden ceiling from the manor-house Næsbyholm in Zealand, biult in 1585 by Steen Brahe. Only half of the ceiling has survived, showing Spring and Winter. Detail of the ceiling: Spring. Behind the female personification of Spring, who is wearing floral garlands, there is, on the left a farmer using a wheel-plough, another is harrowing, and others are fishing with nets in the stream. On the right they are working in the garden of the manor-house.
