Most Goryeo celadon incense burners with lids are decorated with mythological or rare animals like lions, phoenix, and dragons. The lid of this incense burner is in the shape of a common animal like the duck. The smoke is designed to come out of the bill of the duck. The feathers are embossed and then elaborately carved in detail. The body of the incense burner is carved with a peculiar pattern of an ogre mask and cloud pattern.
