  • Viewing Notes: This table is in the classical style favored by New York cabinetmakers in the 1820's and early 1830's, which reflected the influx of French taste at that time. The wood is grain-painted to imitate more expensive rosewood veneers, and has gilded stencil decoration in the same style as gilt bronze mounts found on some French and other New York pieces.
