This silver bowl depicts a scene of gathering and offering of the mullu shells (Spondylus sp.) to a mythological personage. Since considered food of the gods, these warm seas shells were indispensable offerings in the tombs of high-ranking personages in ancient Peru. (UH)

Este cuenco de plata representa una escena de recolección y ofrecimiento de conchas de mullu (Spondylus sp.) a un personaje mitológico. Al ser consideradas alimento de los dioses, estas conchas de mares cálidos eran ofrendas indispensables en las tumbas de los personajes de alto rango en el antiguo Perú. (UH)
