Mr. Kim Jin-seop was a war correspondent working for the Ministry of National Defense and the Dong-A Ilbo when the Korean War broke out in 1950. He was awarded the anti-guerrilla operations medal for contributions in anti-guerrilla operations. He also received an order of military merit from the Minister of National Defense. Mr. Kim Jin-seop donated the medal and citation he received at the time.
