Tachibana Muneshige became a feudal lord of the Tanagura domain in 1606. Accordingly, his former vassals of the Yanagawa domain, who were temporarily employed by the Lord Kato Kiyomasa of the Kumamoto domain, became official vassals of the Kato family. In the same year, former senior vassals of the Yanagawa domain received a certification letter of guarantee for fief ownership issued by the Lord Kiyomasa. Among them, Ono Shizuyuki was given the largest fief (modern Yamaga and Aso Cities) yielding 4,080 koku of rice.
