Chasuble of embroidered cream silk with silver-gilt thread and floss silks, and backed with canvas. In shades of blue, green, red, pink, orange, yellow, brown and black. Laid and couched work with some long and short stitches.

The chasuble is cut with a narrow V-shaped neck. The back is straight and the front is only slightly cut away to fit across the chest. Originally lined with pink watered-silk and was edged with a fringed braid of red silk and silver-gilt thread. The straight orphrey on the frent and the cross orphrey on the back are defined by thick lines of laid silver-gilt thread.

The whole surface is covered by a bold symmetrical design of coiling leafy stems bearing large exotic flowers and with birds perched amongst the foliage. At the bottom of the centre back is a shield quartered with Gules with a lion rampant azure, Azure with three bars wavy gules, Gules with three bars wavy azure, and Azure with a lion rampant gules. Above the shield is a rayed sun and a label inscribed 'UT FILII LVCIS UBIQUE'.
