CHATELAINE PURSE

Known as a chatelaine purse, this style of bag became fashionable during the 1870s. The small ring attached to the chain strap could be worn on the finger or suspended from a belt hook. The beading in pseudo-Regency stripes contrasts with the overall simple design and understated workmanship.
