The below cross stitched artwork was created as part of Carakana's intitaitive to help vulnerable people. All condemned for one criminal offense or another, the five women shuffled out of a secluded block and gathered together at a pavilion to talk about Carakana. At the mention of this project, smiles could be seen on their faces, some wondering when they would get their next patterns considering the previous ones had just been picked days earlier. Some claimed stitching had become an addiction for them while others just wanted to be out of their minds for a while via cross stitching.
The women, Christine, Bancy, Nthenya, Anne and Eunice spun tales of rehabilitation and were amazed by what cross stitching was doing to their lives.
