Chhikka (Basket)

Chhikka is a basket hung from the ceiling and used to store curd or milk to keep it safe from domestic animals. Sometimes, other food items like sweet delicacies and roti are also kept here. The word chhikka for a basket like this is derived from a woven cloth referred to by the same name, used to cover the mouth of the cattle to prevent it from eating food.
