This vest applied padded applique embroidery, in which various appliques cut out of cotton cloth, gauze or silk twill are attached, mostly by glue with few stitches used, to the foundation fabric. The embroidered patterns are often padded with silk, fine linen or cotton. This is how those motifs featuring butterflies flying around flowers were embroidered on the front of this vest. A single layer of appliques was applied on this garment. Specifically speaking, a piece of satin was cut into pre-designed patterns with unraveling edges rolled inside and then attached to the vest with cotton wadding filled underneath. These cute relief-style patterns are highly decorative to this vest.
