Chinese Mitten Crab or Eriocheir sinensis. Collected June 9, 2006 in a commercial crab pot by Captain John Delp of the fishing vessel "Bodaceous" in 15-17 feet of water roughly midway between Bodkin Point and Seven Foot Knoll (Chesapeake Bay/Patapsco River, Maryland) using menhaden as bait.

The specimen was donated by John Delp to the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) for study, with the understanding that SERC would transfer/donate it to the National Museum of Natural History Invertebrate Zoology collection for inclusion in the collections.
