The original Church of St Andrew in the Chesterton area of Cambridge was built in the 13th century. The present church was built during the 15th and 16th centuries and was altered in the 19th century.

A plaque on the north wall of the church, dated 1797, commemorates Anna Maria Vassa, daughter of the abolitionist Olaudah Equiano, who was enslaved as a child.

This photograph was taken for the Images of England project.
