Senckenberg Nature Museum Frankfurt

Senckenberg Nature Museum Frankfurt

Prior to the invention of synthetic dyes, mineral colors were in high demand and very valuable. The famous vermilion (cinnabar) could be extracted from the mineral cinnabarite.
