The first photoflash lamp was invented in the 1920s. In its further development, it was steadily made smaller while its light output increased. Suitable reflectors and the synchronizing of discharge and shutter improved its effect. In 1954, Agfa redesigned their popular, affordable box camera, adding rounded corners to the plastic body and sold it under the name of “Clack” with an attachable capacitor flash.
