Clarisse III is a painted laser-cut, stainless steel sculpture of a cow. “I can’t put a finger on what propels me to make these things, but I keep doing it anyway. Well, it is a good way to live and make a living. I am quite happy about it.” (Joe Fafard, 2008)
Joe Fafard was born in Ste. Marthe, Saskatchewan and currently lives and works near the town of Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Among his many honours, he was named an Officer of the Order of Canada (1981). His works grace a number of major buildings across Canada including the most recent installation of Running Horses in front of the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
