The Torre dos Clérigos (Clerics’ Tower), designed by the Italian Nicolau Nasoni (1691-1773), rises 75.6m in height, dominating the Porto landscape from just about every point imaginable. Its sophisticated blend of scenographic design and ornate decoration contrasts with the utilitarian nature of the commonplace buildings.
