Pocket watch movement. Circular plates system. Spring driven with fusee. Verge escapement. Prismatic base standing on four legs in the form of a spinning whirl.
On the front side of it is a symmetrically designed appliqué: two adorsed horns of plenty connected with a ribbon. On the base is the casing, set a little to the right, shaped as a pack of cotton (tobacco). On the top there is basket with fruit of pineapple and poppy. On the left, with the left hand leaning on the body, there is a figure of a black person in a skirt made of palm leaves and a matching crown on his head. The figure is holding a rope in the right hand. Right from the casing is an anchor and a barrel. The whole hour is gilt, excluding the patinated body of the figure. The dial framed with a rope motif is white enamelled with black Arabic numerals for marking hours, and with dashes for minutea. The hands are brass, type Louis XV.
