Dorothea Wiedemann came to a German colony in Paraná with her parents when she was still a child. Throughout her life she lived in several countries, such as England, where she took her doctorate in Literature, the United States, New Guinea and Japan. From an early age she began studying engraving techniques as well as the cultures of the places where she lived. The result is a technical maturing allied to the impressions that the artist had of the landscapes and different cultural aspects.
