While Finding Seoul depicts Seoul from the perspective of citizens and the ways in which they can enjoy cities together, the Collective Cityscape of Seoul displays public spaces enjoyed by the public as selected by twenty-five district offices throughout the city. These districts come together to comprise the landscape of Seoul’s public spaces. A strategy is needed to connect these twenty-five distinct, fragmented components into a single, collective landscape. For this exhibit, each district office is represented by a 32-inch monitor that displays selected pictures and videos. Furthermore, there is a map of Seoul on the floor of the exhibit so that audiences can visualize the locations of the public spaces shown on the monitors. Using this map, not only can audiences see these different spaces and their locations, but also experience other popular spaces that are in nearby areas. Through this exhibition, visitors can enjoy the scenery as shown on the monitors, along with the images shown on the accompanying map.
