Colour lithograph, depicts boys playing cricket

Melbourne Cricket Club

Melbourne Cricket Club
Jolimont, Australia

Colour lithograph of boys playing cricket. The image is contained within a lozenge-shaped window, and shows eight figures in a clearing surrounded by trees. Two boys are holding bats, and one stands in front of a set of (three) stumps, facing a bowler who is going round the wicket. In the foreground, a dog sits on a patch of rough grass next to a pile of hats. The clothing and style of the print suggest a production date of the first decades of the nineteenth century. The print is on a small piece of unevenly cropped paper, with the word "cricket" scrawled in pencil underneath. Writing on reverse reads "3".
