Dating back to the first century B.C., the Maya murals in San Bartolo, located in Petén, are extensive wall paintings executed several centuries earlier than any other known Maya murals. The discovery was one of the most recent significant finds in Mesoamerica. This AFCP project focused on the consolidation and preservation of the walls.
