Conservation of letters from the Gairsoppa

A photo taken in the conservation studio at The Postal Museum. This was one of many letters recovered from the SS Gairsoppa. Over 700 personal letters were trapped at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in the wreck for nearly three quarters of a century.
