Copper beech trees in our Arboretum

This tree is a rather large one. A copper beech can often grow up to a massive 42 metres in the wild. Found growing across Europe on chalky soil, the wind pollinates the flowers of this tree. The fruits are three-sided nuts (called beech mast) inside spiky cases.
