A contemporary version of Mithila art shows a new range of colours reflecting the fertile soil and the hand spun , hand woven silk of Bihar. It eliminates the highly decorative elements usually found in the Mithila / Madhubani style and adds a whimsical set of images of common everyday crafts people working in their natural surroundings.
