Crafts Maps of India - Rajasthan

Courtly scenes surround the work of rural craftspeople performing various craft skills. Using the traditional tones of miniature paintings and picchwais, the colours of pink sandstone and marble replicate the colours of the capital city Jaipur. The textiles map combines the vibrant hues emerging out of desert villages against the backdrop of the ochre colour of sand dunes. These are created in the Mewar school of miniature art.
