This paperweight form on a pedestal is one of the iconic examples of creative excellence and innovation in American folk design stemming from Southern New Jersey. The reference to a crimp describes the process of creating this floral shape. Ralph Barber created a metal form with a wooden handle that could be pushed into the glass while molten and removed, leaving this colored rose-like shape. Leaves were created separately and added to accent the flower.
