The Blessing Christ

Lombard painter1510 approx.

In this panel we find elements taken from the "Salvador Mundi" by Antonello da Messina (London, National Gallery), such as the marble parapet and the dark background.
The artist who executed the painting had without doubt an in-depth knowledge of Dürer's art, as evidenced by the subtle graphic style in the rendering of hair and the clarity of the surfaces. The refined colouring of the tunic, on the other hand, with beautiful iridescent reflections, refers to Lombard culture, thought to be that of the author of this work.
