Cutting out blanks for making the brackets for the grab rail.

On either side of the boiler, grab rails are mounted on brackets that go through the cladding to directly bolt onto the recesses on the outside of the boiler. I decided that these brackets would be the first tiny parts I would attempt to make on my lathe. It was a departure from my resolve to stick to cardboard, but for small parts such as these, cardboard without some form of metal reinforcement would not be durable at all.
