Cypriot clay bird-shaped askos with filling hole on the back and the corresponding pouring hole at the front of the head. Askoi of this type have a long tradition in Crete, Cyprus and the Dodecanese. Their presence in graves is perhaps associated with religious beliefs regarding the souls metamorphosis into a bird. Cypro-Geometric II period, 950-850 BC. H. 0.13 m. (ΓΕ 14212)
