Daguerreotype depicting Count Magnus Brahe in 1844, some months before his death. The print was primarily made, it seems, in order to make a relief and a medal with his profile. The printmaker Anton Derville was a Frenchman living in Sweden in the 1840’s. Derville had been a pupil of Louis Daguerre.
