Franck was actually the pseudonym of the French François-Marie-Louis-Alexandre Gobinet of Villecholles, Parisian aristocrat and portraitist who came to Barcelona to escape the revolution of 1848. He became the most prominent photographer from Barcelona during the early years of photography . His studio was located in the Rambla del centro, number 18.
From 1858 also he appears associated with the French Alejandro Wigle, who had been lithographer with Silverware workshop at number 18. This part corresponds to this period.
His activity in the Catalan capital lasted until 1865, when he liquidated his business.
