One photograph of workers constructing the steel and concrete foundation of a large apartment block in London. Caption on back reads: 'Seven hundred and fifty workmen are putting up on a river site in Grosvenor Road, what will be the biggest flat building in Europe. The site covers seven acres which formed part of the big West End estate of the Duke of Westminster. When the building perations reach their pe[ak] 3,060 workmen will be engaged on the work. Altogether th[ere] will be 1,250 self-contained flats in the building. Photo shows- A view of the frontage block looking towards Battersea Power Station'.
