Women's Hat with Ostrich Feather Trim

The colour scheme and graceful droop of long ostrich feathers render them the most remarkable element of this high, narrow brimmed hat. The delicate individual feathers were knotted to each other by hand, while silk velvet and silk gauze were laid in folds and mounted around the frame of the hat. A sculptural gimped yarn lace offsets the crown. Such headwear suited the slim lines of modern street costumes.
