The development of large surfaces and monochromatic atmospheres reaches its height in this painting with the use of dark navy blues. The figures are executed in a schematic manner, almost only outlined, enveloped in a light halo, disproportionate in relation to the houses that reveal cubist influences and suggest an anthropomorphic dimension.
Space is hereby transformed into a projection of the subject that encodes and produces a world through the language of the unconscious. The left half of the painting presents persecutory and depressive traces, whereas the right half presents the euphoria of the dancing couples that charges the environment and transfigures perspective.
