Dangui is an upper garment for women to wear at ceremonial occasions. In the palace, after the queen changed her upper garment to unlined dangui the day before Dano (the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar), all women changed to unlined dangui on Dano. The edge hem is hand rolled 0.5cm wide and then sewn into the inside. The outer and inner strings to tie the garment are made of crimson and green silk, respectively.
