The ethnic group living in the Jinchuan River basin is called “Jia Rong”. For women here, cheongsam or embroidery skirts are their most formal and splendid dressing. Regarding accessories, noble women wear necklaces with a box-shaped pendant and coronets decorated with coral beads, while commoners can only afford cloth head wraps. It is indicated that there exist clear boundaries among classes and that people of the ethnic minorities have been widely influenced by the Han customs.
