The story of 'De zeven hoofdzonden' is situated in the semi-real, semi-mythological America of an early work by Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht, notably the opera ‘Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagony’. It incorporates the psychological theme of the Siamese twin sisters, who are inextricably linked and naturally living in every woman.

In 'De zeven hoofdzonden', the two sisters (are they truly two persons or one person with a multi personality disorder?), both called Anna, have to find a way to earn money, so their families are able to build a home. Seven times during their life journey, the opposing natures of the two Anna's collide; each time they are faced with one of the seven deadly sins.
