Far from mastering the art and production of high volumes, prehispanic potters shaped their world and their thinking in their designs as well as society's preferences for products of this pottery industry. During the Early-Middle Formative popular pottery was decorated in white and red, with geometric patterns that probably represent natural phenomena and aspects considered beautiful or sacred.
